In a town where the beloved Albachiara changed owners and chefs four times in a decade, our quest for a reliable pizza haven led us to Prego a bit outside of our town, steering clear of other non-specialty pizza places like Pizza Maus and Mr. Pizza. While Pizza Hut in Germany satisfies a specific craving, Prego truly impressed us with a noticeable rise in custom-made, quality pizza eating especially post-2021. Our first encounter with Prego in 2018 was pleasant but not exceptional. Fast forward to today, and something has undeniably changed for the better. As a pizza enthusiast familiar with the unique flavors of New York City stone oven pizza and having savored authentic Italian pizza in its homeland, I wondered if Germany could deliver a comparable experience. With Prego's, the answer is a resounding yes. Ordering anything pizza with mozzarella from Prego is a game-changer. The lead cashier and the entire staff consistently contribute to a friendly and pleasant pickup experience. For delivery, they only accept cash but Prego's efficiency ensures that the food arrives piping hot. Our recent order of three family-sized jumbo pizzas was flawlessly delivered. Beyond their outstanding pizzas, Prego boasts a menu of excellent salads. The walnut with pear salad and the feta cheese and iceberg lettuce with artichokes are good with good dressings. We hope (and pray)that Prego maintains its current level of consistency and affordability. In a region where many pizzerias tend to disappoint, Prego has become our go-to haven. While we haven't explored their pasta options, based on our positive experiences, we wouldn't be surprised if they are equally satisfying. We make a conscious effort to visit as often as possible, and the option to pick up orders to go only adds to the convenience of enjoying our newfound favorite pizzeria in Friedberg. Two years into Prego, so for us, 5 stars.

Pizza was good, we dinned in, but it’s more a delivery place. Beware that no alcohol is served, so if you like to have a beer with your pizza, you better order take out.

I loved being able to place our order online the day before and schedule when we wanted it to be delivered. It was delivered well on time, the delivery man was very helpful and friendly and the pizzas were delicious! We will definitely order from here again.
